Water in its various forms, is acknowledged as the key regulator of climate and agricultural security. This is largely why 2013 has been capped by the United Nations as the year for water conflict management and cooperation, which encompasses aspects of water diplomacy, peace and security under conditions of climate change and variability. Other experts have so far suggested that if water security can be achieved, then climate change impacts in other sectors can be significantly reduced. However, what can Africa as the most climate vulnerable continent do differently to achieve improved water security as an adaptation strategy?
