Exploring how and why is solar energy making an impact on zero carbon development in Africa
This event moderated by Dr. Rocio Diaz-Chavez, Research Fellow at the Centre for Environmental Policy of Imperial College London.
The two keynote speakers were Dr. Alison Doig - Principal Adviser- Climate change and sustainable development, Christian Aid and Charlie Miller is SolarAid’s Head of Policy and Programme Funding, managing the organisation’s relationships with governments, aid agencies and foundations.
Among the topics discussed, were categories of solar off-grid lighting products and how they meet the needs of different market segment as well as various approaches for communicating the need for more solar energy practices within local governments.
Both speakers animated a lively debate which proved the growing interest in the use of solar energy and green policies in Africa.
