Conference on Climate Change in Africa: Negotiations, Translations, and Social-political Implications

The conference is a networking event to facilitate knowledge exchange across different climate change research projects, networking initiatives and the African Service Centers for Climate Change (WASCAL and SASSCAL). The event will host academic panels and poster sessions, as well as working groups.

Host of the conference

The West African Science Service Center for ClimateChange and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL) has received the status of an international research institute in 2013. WASCAL has ten member countries in the region (Senegal, Gambia, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Côte d´Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, Benin and Nigeria).
The three principle components of WASCAL are a Climate Service Department and a Research Department which are both located at the Competence Center, as well as a Graduate Studies Department which is running six different doctoral programs and four different master programs at ten universities of the region since 2012.
